Here are some crazy coasters I made for this festive Halloween season. Or... I suppose I can use them on Sundays this Fall to cheer on our hometown football team?

Today we celebrated my dear friend, Calley, with a baby shower. She is due next month with her third girl! I was excited to make another quilt for Calley. I like to use snuggle flannel fabric, and line the back with Minke. I can’t wait to meet this baby!

home sweet home

Friday, October 3, 2008

Last weekend we cleaned out the overgrown flowers that took a good beating from the summer heat, and planted some mums. Summer is my most favorite season, so I’m always hesitant to buy the mums... it just means I’m surrendering to what’s ahead.

I also love love love the new stone walkway and steps that lead up to our front door. It was a big project this summer, but it is so beautiful and we’re so happy with it!

lizard for TJ

Friday, October 3, 2008

I carpool to work with my friend, Margie. When she drives, her 2 year son, TJ, is with us. Today is his birthday, and I made him this little lizard out of felt. This was my first project from the book, Cute Stuff. I was hoping to whipittogether real quick... but the zipper on the belly of the lizard was a little complicated for me.

save the raspberries!

Wednesday, September 17, 2008

In the beginning of September, we pick handfuls of raspberries everyday from our big raspberry patch. When the violent wind storm came through Cincinnati last Sunday, we were running around the yard putting things away, and trying to save the last of the raspberries... indeed we did, and they were so good!  Here are also a few pictures from our vegetable garden.

knodle pillow

Saturday, August 23, 2008

I made a pillowcase for our hammock pillow. I used Sunbrella fabric which is great for all things outdoors. I picked out a big bold colorful print that reminds me of the outdoor furniture my childhood-neighbor’s had.

superhero cape

Wednesday, August 20, 2008

It all started when I saw my 3 year old nephew, Grant, running around the yard with a beach towel tied around his neck. I thought... we can do better than that. This special hanger will re-charge the cape at night. (Actually, I made this hanger with his parents in mind).

chip wheelies

Sunday, July 13, 2008

The best ice cream in Cincinnati is hands-down, Graeter’s. One of the things they sell is, “chip wheelies” which is vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two chocolate chip cookies.  I took a crack at making this dessert for the annual Heart Sister Picnic.

The last step is not pictured: chocolate sprinkles around the sides of the ice cream!

july fourth goodies

Friday, July 4, 2008

I made all kinds of treats this year. We started the day with a rainy parade, then the annual picnic at Ryland, then back to our house for fireworks!  For the festivities I made: Pretzel jello salad, Brownies with cream cheese icing and fruit; White chocolate covered pretzels; and Red velvet cupcakes.
